1st Day Continuation
That night is when things got not-mom-safe. Jeremy Freeman had the Explore and Discover students go on this scavenger hunt type thing. You had to figure out a clue go to a certain area or building on the campus and then do a group challenge. The first one was in the gym. We had to all lay down in a row and pass one of our team members hand by hand to the other side of the gym. That was fun.
I don’t necessarily remember all of these in order. The next one reminded me a lot of when we used to play nerf capture the flag at the Latoni’s house. We went to the thrift store and had to find an object, which was hidden in much the same way as our flags at the Latoni’s.
Then we had to go perform a skit based on a parable.
After that, we went to the courtyard. We were given a bucket of water, bats, and cups. There was an empty bucket of water about 20 yards away. We had to use a cup to pour water into our mouths, hold the bat to our forehead, bend over and spin around 3 times, run over to the empty bucket and spit the water out into it. Oh, all of this was timed, and the team that completed all the challenges first was the winner. This challenge was nasty.
Then it gets bad. We go into this building, and on a table are random foods, such as an apple, lemon, onion, SPAM, bars of toffee, a can of sardines. We each had to choose a food and eat it all. Because we had a small team, I got to eat 5 bars of toffee, one onion, half a can of sardines, and then drown it all with a can of Fresca.
There were 4 Explore teams and 4 discover teams. I was on team #2. Team #1 ended up winning the contest, my team (team #2) got second, and team #3 got third. Quite ironic. The top three teams were all Explore. I still taste the onion, as does Crystal who ate the other onion from my team.
